About Serge Lutens
Serge Lutens made his name as a photographer and makeup artist, notably shaping Shiseido's image from 1980. His fragrance work for the company led to Fรฉminitรฉ du Bois and, in 1992, the opening of the Salons du Palais Royal in Paris, home of his own perfume line. Lutens is not a perfumer himself: he conceives each scent's story, while perfumer Christopher Sheldrake has composed much of the collection, including Serge Noire and L'Eau d'Armoise.
